Where Have You Been?

Wow, it’s been awhile, huh? Where have I been? Oh, I’ve been here, and there, and down the street for awhile. 8) For awhile there I wasn’t blogging because I really didn’t have anything to say. And, also, I’ve been so busy with running my other websites, I didn’t want to try and find time to visit other people’s blogs, and you know what? I feel really bad about that! I miss my online peeps, and I miss visiting blogs! *Note to self: MUST. DO. BETTER.*

Today, I just bought The Band Perry’s new CD called Pioneer. You can buy it here. If you also want to buy it before the 6th, use promo code THEBANDPERRYSAVE2 to get $2 off. Totally worth it. They’re my favorite band

So, I’ve been sitting around for the past 3 weeks all by my lonesome. Except Easton, I mean, where is a 2-year-old gonna go? Oh, yeah! Easton had his 2-year birthday on March 10 :D It is insanely crazy how much time flies by! He is so smart too! He’s already counting to 10 by himself and knows most of the alphabet in order :D His grandma got him a Leap Frog computer thing for Christmas and he can point out just about every single letter if you ask him to! Am I being a braggy momma? TOO BAD! :p I’m so proud of my little genius!

Oh, and like I said, by my lonesome because John has been in Virgina for a class[1. He needs this class to be eligible for promotion.] since March 11. :( He gets back on April 11, which I’m glad is coming up soon, but then he’s only here for 3 days then he goes into the field[2. The “field” means they pack up all their Army gear, go out into the woods and pretend they are deployed. It’s what they do to get ready for deployment. John like to say they go “play Army”.] for 2 weeks and CAN’T HAVE HIS PHONE.   How lame is that? His unit is most likely not even deploying, so they’re going to be sitting in the field doing absolutely nothing. I hate the Army sometimes.

Let’s Get Right to the Point

This week has not been a good one. Early Sunday morning Easton woke up throwing up :( Monday was better, but the diarrhea started. Tuesday he was puking again so John and I took him to the ER early that morning before John went to work. The doctor told us there was a 24-hour bug going around and gave us some anti-nausea medication for Easton. The rest of that day was better, but the diarrhea has continued. Then this morning he woke up at 4 and at 7 puking once again  I called the hospital and made an actual appointment for him, and that doctor said she thinks his stomach just got upset by what he was eating. Since we hadn’t gradually gone back to “normal” food. He’s been sleeping A LOT today and still has the diarrhea but he hasn’t puked since this morning, which is really good. I just feel so bad for my little boy! He’s too young to really understand what’s going on, he just feels like crap all day and I feel bad that there’s not much we can do about it. Give him his meds and try to get him to drink water and eat crackers.

I have a killer headache too but I don’t think I’d be able to nap. So I’m just going to wait until he goes down for the night I guess. To top it off, John has 24-hour duty tonight so I won’t have any help taking care of Easton. I hope my baby boy feels better tomorrow!

End of Year Survey 2012

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
John and I decided together to start a diet and we actually made progress! I’ve said for years that I would start a diet and lose this extra weight and this year I finally did it! I still have a long way to go, but making progress has given me lots of confidence that I can keep it up into the next year :)

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make New Years resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really, but my cousin just had her baby the other day.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries/cities did you visit?
No countries, cuz I’m poor, but on our move from Alaska to Kentucky, we visited many new cities. I saw Seattle for the first time as well as Spokane, WA where John has family.

More money…!

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 14, the school shooting in Connecticut. The second most deadly shooting in US history. Most of the deaths were children ages 5 and 6. So many innocents died that day and I won’t forget the heroic teacher who hid her students in cabinets and died protecting them from the gunman.

Starting and keeping up with my diet :) lost 25lbs so far!

9. What was your biggest failure?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you…

  1. happier or sadder?
    Happier I guess.

I’d say the same, but I weigh less :p

I really miss my Alaska/American Eagle friends

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Shatter every window til it’s all blown away
Every brick ever board, every slamming door blown away
Til there’s nothing left standing
Nothing left of yesterday
Every tear soaked whiskey memory blown away

Carrie again, I love this song, but it seems to relate to how I’ve been feeling all year. Wanting to change my life, my lifestyle, for the better. It has nothing to do with abuse or excessive drinking like the song does, but still.

41. Was 2012 a good year for you?
It was good.

42. What were your favorite moments of the year?
Whenever Easton laughed.

43. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Whenever Easton cried. lol

Not sure of a specific moment, but I’d like to start on my diet earlier in the year.

58. What are your plans for 2013?
Keeping up with my diet, John is hopefully getting to be a recruiter, so if that happens we will *hopefully* be moving back into the hometown area :D We are also paying off a bunch of bills with tax refund money, so we will have extra each month that we plan to put into savings for times we want to go on a trip we don’t have to worry about not having the gas money! :)

Home for the Holidays

OMG I didn’t realize it had been so long since I blogged on here  I really haven’t had much to rant about, and my life isn’t that interesting to just talk about my day :p

John is going to the field tomorrow, only for a night, but it sucks. I feel so bad for him, because it’s getting colder and it’s been raining all day. So, the ground is probably going to be all soggy and wet and cold and he’ll be out there “playing soldier” as he calls it, sleeping on the ground and all. Plus side is I can sprawl out as much as I want in the bed tomorrow night

I spent all night and this morning working on the new theme you see here, called Winter Wonderland. I really like it. I wanted something simple, and winter/Christmas themed. I also wanted the blog part of the site to take a back seat, as I don’t spend a lot of time here anymore. So, now the main page is basically a domain collective-looking page.

I’m also getting excited about Christmas! :) We are actually going home for the holidays, which is a big change from the past few years. We were in Alaska, and it’s so expensive to travel we couldn’t afford to take the plane trips home. This year, since we are within driving distance (8 hours if we do it without stopping) we are able to make it home! We are driving out the 7th of December, since we have a wedding to attend the 8th, and staying through the 28th. John’s birthday is the 13th, then our 3-year anniversary is the 19th and then Christmas on the 25th. Whew! Then to top it off, when we get back to Tennessee, we have New Year’s, and my birthday on the 10th of January! :p

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season :)

Why Risk It? You’re Gonna Get Caught

What in this world makes a person think it is okay to get into the drivers seat of a car once they’ve been drinking? More so, when your job, no, your life is dependent on behaving and not getting in trouble, why would you risk something this stupid?! This is what I’ve been thinking for the last few days. Over the weekend, John had not one, but two of his soldiers get DUI’s. And, they are most likely being kicked out of the Army for it.

One of the guys is someone I actually know, and he never seemed to me someone who would be that reckless. He only was caught because he slightly went over the center line on the road. He was off post, which means we aren’t sure how much trouble he’s getting in, but the Army may still kick him. It’s sad, because he is a super cool guy, and he was leaving Kentucky in November for Washington and also switching his jobs in the military.

The other guy, I don’t know personally. However, I actually am hoping he gets kicked out of the Army. He was on post, he’s underage, and he was at one of John’s soldiers houses with a few of his other soldiers. They all are in trouble because they are all responsible for him leaving. And, letting an underage kid drink. :-(( He was caught driving 60MPH on a 25MPH road… Someone could have been killed from this stupidity! Also, on the way to pick him up, John saw like 20 deer, so this guy could have killed himself if he had hit one! Shake my head….

These occurrences happened over the 4 day weekend John had, one on Saturday night, the second on Sunday night. Both times, John got calls in the middle of the night from the Military Police (MPs) and he had to pick up his soldiers from jail. So, our weekend sucked, sleep-wise, and I think John was a bit more stressed out than he showed me.

I just really needed to rant about this, I just don’t understand why people drink and drive, when like I said, their job, and life depends on not being that stupid.
