Start of a Tradition?

I’ve seen a few of these around and decided I want to do my own little reflection on the past year. Maybe I’ll keep it up each year, maybe not. I guess we’ll see! I kept finding the same list of questions, so I just picked my favorites :)

1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Gave birth! and the many awkward and unpleasant things that follow that… Let me tell you, I hope to not be doing that for a while…

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Honestly, I haven’t made resolutions since, like, middle school. I do usually have the same goal, of losing weight. So yeah, I guess I have that. I really hope to lose at least 60 lbs before getting pregnant again… currently I’m up to what I was just before giving birth to Easton, and I’d like to get back down to at least 200lbs before even trying for another one. My absolute goal would be to be 180lbs and stay there :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Besides me? Well, no, but I had 2 friends lose babies :(

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year.

5. What countries did you visit?
Canada. If you count flying over it :P

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Patience. Much more patience.

7. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Becoming a mother.

8. Where did most of your money go?
Easton. Babies are expensive!

9. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Wisconsin to visit family. Then, coming back home.

10. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Sadder. I just realized that I have no more friends up in Alaska, I’m not expecting a son in 2 months (as I was last year) and I’m just sick of winter and snow.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner, but the same weight. I have no bulge from a baby, but still, the weight is there :(
c) richer or poorer? Neither really. I guess, richer in a way because the Army is giving us money to move, but poorer cuz we have more things to buy each grocery shopping day.

11. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Reading. Exercising. Baby research.

12. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Yelling. Sitting on my butt. Getting stressed out. Crying.

13. How did you spend Christmas?
At home with John, Easton and a couple friends invited for dinner.

14. Did you fall in love in 2011?
With my son, Easton.

15. What was your favorite TV program?
Hard to choose. I found a few new TV shows I like… 9 Lives of Chloe King, Separated at Birth, Terra Nova, Army Wives…

16. What was your favorite film of this year?
Hm… didn’t go see many movies because of being pregnant and then having a newborn to take care of… We did go out while we were home in WI, and really enjoyed watching Transformers in 3D. Also, Captain America in 3D was awesome and recently saw Breaking Dawn, Part 1 of the Twilight Saga. So excited for the second movie, only cuz I wanna see how they portray Bella as a vampire. I hope they do a better job than with any of the other movies, otherwise I’ll be very disappointed.

17. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 25 and I think we went to dinner? I honestly don’t remember as it was almost a year ago! (jan 10)

18. What kept you sane?
Working on my websites and fanlistings. :D

19. Who did you miss?
I missed and still miss miss my Grandfather on my mom’s side. Well, my Grandmother too, for that matter. My only two grandparents that aren’t alive anymore, they both died within 3 years of my marriage and first child… I still can’t believe they didn’t get to see me happy.

20. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
“Today I don’t feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don’t feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
Cuz today I swear I’m not doing anything
Nothing at all.”
– Bruno Mars, “The Lazy Song”

(So so lazy, I am!)

Happy New Year to everyone, I hope everyone has had a great start and let’s hope things stay that way! (or get better!) :)

Hello 2012!

So, it is the New Year! 2012! Hey, wait… isn’t the world suppose to end this year? :O I guess we’ll see, huh? ;)

Well, John and I decided to bring in the new year with a Harry Potter movie marathon. John got me the 8-disc Blu Ray set, sadly not the one with all the special features as we didn’t have $250 to spend on movies… but it’s still awesome none-the-less :) We had another couple over as we started the first movie at noon on December 31st and planned to go non-stop for the entire 19 hours and 40 minutes (yes, we added all the times of the movies together to figure out how long it’d take!). Well, with only 20 minutes left of the second movie (Chamber of Secrets), they decided to head home to take a nap so they would be fully ready for our all-night adventure.

They ditched out. After a couple hours we tried getting a hold of them, and apparently they wanted to go play pool instead. Lame. Oh well, we were still going to continue, it just wouldn’t be “as” fun and all our alcohol wouldn’t be drunk… Because I’m not much of a drinker and John probably wouldn’t want to drink a bunch of “girlie” drinks! :D

Well, we finally put Easton to be around 11PM or so, and started Year 5, “Order of the Phoenix“. This one is actually my least favorite of the movies :( I about fell asleep and after the movie was over, we decided to go to sleep and continue in the morning. If we had gone non-stop, our marathon would end just about the time Easton would be waking up, and then we’d have to stay up even longer to take care of him and I wasn’t about to do that! So, we headed to bed between 1AM and 2AM and finished the other 3 movies today. :)

I’m thinking about starting a photoblog… what you think? Oh, random thought! Earlier tonight I was outside having a smoke (I do this about everytime I let the dogs outside) and saw two moose walking down the middle of the street! No joke! Most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen! Too bad it was -40 degrees out and I didn’t have my camera… I woulda chased them down and gotten some pictures! :D

How did you all bring in the New Year?

Thanksgiving is Over

And now Christmas is around the corner! :D I’m a little depressed that John and I didn’t put up the tree this weekend, because it’s always been a tradition in both our families to do it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I guess I’ll survive. I’m a little worried what the puppy is going to do with it!

Everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, how was it? This was only my second year celebrating away from home but only the first Thanksgiving we didn’t have company. It was just John and me and so we definitely have left-overs! I even cut recipes in half! Like last year, the turkey came out great and this year I took a stab at making the first ever pumpkin pie I’ve ever made! And it came out great! I loved it so much, I posted the recipe on the site so you guys can take a crack at it if you’d like :)

I was asked by an online friend to explain how to blend images together. She’s been attempting to for a while now and can never seem to get it right. I decided to write a tutorial for how I do my blending in Paint Shop Pro–with the selection tool. I hope it’s helpful to someone :D

Over the next few weeks I’m planning on getting a new layout up as well as re-working this current theme for download ( :O ) as well as *hopefully* creating some new themes all together. I’ve been slacking lately and I would like to stop!! :))

New Domain (Again)

Hopefully this will be the last time! At the end of last month, I found there was a virus on my sites. I don’t know how it got there but I was able to get it off, but I was missing a lot of files. I was about to give up my blog at crazycordy.net for good… No more blogging, no more making of resources, tutorials, etc. Well, I then realized that my host makes backups so I looked into it. I was able to get enough of crazycordy backed up to reinstall WordPress and export all my stuff… chosen.nu at the time was just my domain collective, where I had a few pages listing the domains I own and a little bit of info on each one. I’m planning on adding a domain “collective” section to this site at some point, but I decided since I put the effort into getting my backups, I would keep on blogging. I have no idea if I will continue to create graphics or write tutorials anymore–honestly, I don’t have any motivation to do so. So, as of right now, everything will stay as it is… I didn’t delete anything, mostly because I hate deleting things. I may at some point go through tutorials and re-work things that are out dated or just crappy. lol :)

Say Hello to Maya

So, our move is complete and we were able to get everything cleaned out in the old house :D Now, comes the long process of unpacking the new place! We haven’t gotten too far besides unpacking the essentials, but it’ll get done eventually!

Also, John came home with our new puppy the other day! We have named her Maya :D She is so adorable although I’ve never had a puppy and I didn’t realize it was going to be like having a newborn baby again. We have to get up every couple hours in the middle of the night to let her outside. And of course, we’re in ALASKA and it’s getting down into the 20s at night, so I gotta stand outside and wait for her to do her business in the cold! :( She’s only 6 weeks old but I’ve been told that she’ll get past the phase soon enough. Dakota (our 2-year-old husky) and Maya are getting along very well. They are starting to play and chase each other and everything–so cute! Easton seems to like her too, as he loves Dakota already! It’s so cute, he gets this big smile every time Dakota stands in his view. I haven’t much more in the way of news, so here are some more pictures of our new addition. :)
