End of Year Survey 2012

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
John and I decided together to start a diet and we actually made progress! I’ve said for years that I would start a diet and lose this extra weight and this year I finally did it! I still have a long way to go, but making progress has given me lots of confidence that I can keep it up into the next year :)

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make New Years resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really, but my cousin just had her baby the other day.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries/cities did you visit?
No countries, cuz I’m poor, but on our move from Alaska to Kentucky, we visited many new cities. I saw Seattle for the first time as well as Spokane, WA where John has family.

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
More money…!

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 14, the school shooting in Connecticut. The second most deadly shooting in US history. Most of the deaths were children ages 5 and 6. So many innocents died that day and I won’t forget the heroic teacher who hid her students in cabinets and died protecting them from the gunman.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Starting and keeping up with my diet :) lost 25lbs so far!

9. What was your biggest failure?
Can’t really think of anything.

My iMac :)

Blown Away by Carrie Underwood. Only reason is is because I love the song and listen to it all the time :)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you…

  1. happier or sadder?
    Happier I guess.
  2. thinner or fatter?
I’d say the same, but I weigh less :p
  3. richer or poorer?

Reading, cleaning (really!)

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

John getting off work at 5 like he is supposed to. He rarely did this year at all :(

The 2012 election… although, we didn’t even get to vote because I didn’t realize we needed absentee ballots for Wisconsin and John never told me until after the deadline….

37. Who did you miss?
I really miss my Alaska/American Eagle friends

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Patience. That’s it.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Shatter every window til it’s all blown away
Every brick ever board, every slamming door blown away
Til there’s nothing left standing
Nothing left of yesterday
Every tear soaked whiskey memory blown away

Carrie again, I love this song, but it seems to relate to how I’ve been feeling all year. Wanting to change my life, my lifestyle, for the better. It has nothing to do with abuse or excessive drinking like the song does, but still.

41. Was 2012 a good year for you?
It was good.

42. What were your favorite moments of the year?
Whenever Easton laughed.

43. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Whenever Easton cried. lol

First time Easton said “Thank you”. He says it now all the time… such a well mannered boy!

Not sure of a specific moment, but I’d like to start on my diet earlier in the year.

58. What are your plans for 2013?
Keeping up with my diet, John is hopefully getting to be a recruiter, so if that happens we will *hopefully* be moving back into the hometown area :D We are also paying off a bunch of bills with tax refund money, so we will have extra each month that we plan to put into savings for times we want to go on a trip we don’t have to worry about not having the gas money! :)

Where Were You?

It was a brisk autumn day in a small town in south-central Wisconsin. It was first period at our High School, I was in Driver’s Ed, in the simulator that sits outside of the school. At the end of class, we headed back inside to our classroom. Once we entered the room, we were bombarded with questions about planes. “Did you see?” “Did you hear?” “We’re under attack!” I was so confused. I thought someone was attacking our school. Until the teacher turned on the TV, and saw the horror that would forever live in our minds.

September 11, 2001. It was the day that America was hit in her heart, airplanes hijacked by terrorists from another country. Slammed them into our own buildings, killing our innocents. Even some unlucky passengers were brave enough to sacrifice themselves, crashing one of the planes before it reached it’s intended target.

One of my acquaintances, not really a friend but was on the basketball team with me, was hysterical because her brother was on one of the planes. Thank God, she found out a few hours later he had missed his flight. But, so many others did not miss their flight.

Today, I decided to remember this day, yet another of ours that will live in infamy. If you were old enough to know what was happening, you remember too. You remember where you were, what you were doing, what you thought. I think, even if you don’t live in the United States, you probably remember hearing about it, and being disgusted at the horror.

Where were you? What were you doing? On this day of infamy…

Blank Mind

There was something I wanted to blog about yesterday, but of course I procrastinated and now I don’t remember what it was. Well, for starters, new layout! I wanted something different, I really liked my previous theme but was getting sick of it. Hope you guys like it :) It’s fall themed, as we are heading into fall and thank God! I’m so sick of this hot weather! I definitely missed the heat in the winter when living in Alaska, but I hate humidity and I’d take -40 degree weather any day over 100+ with 100% humidity! :Z

So, lately I’ve been working really hard on my design site, as well as getting a few new fanlistings up and running. I’ve been totally neglecting this site and my screencap site :( I’m going to start spending a lot more time over there and over here, I started with my picture section. I’ve completely redid it, using a lightbox plugin and added new pictures. I still have a bunch to add to Easton’s section, but they are currently sitting on my phone and iPad and I need to download them to the computer so I can add them :) Will do soon!

I guess that’s all I really have to say for now… if I remember what I wanted to blog about, I’ll add it to this post :p

Web Design & Cupcakes

Ugh. I was so gonna do a vlog yesterday. I showered, put my contacts in, and even did my makeup! :P But, I also wanted to get things done, and I ended up cleaning the compluter room and living room, and most of the kitchen. I sweated a lot and felt like I looked too shitty to have you guys see me :P lol Oh well. Next time.

Not much in the way of news except I still would really like to get some orders in at my Design Site. Word of mouth is essential with this, and I’d appreciate any help you guys can give me! :) I’ve also started a fansite for actress Emma Caulfield. I know her best from her role as Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and she’s been in some interesting stuff since then! I’ve been spending most of my days lately taking screencaps from her various shows/movies and putting them on the site. Check it out! Emma Caulfield Fan.

I think today should be a “look at my cute little baby boy” day. Here are some videos I’ve taken recently of him :)

Feeling Like a Home

My last post should have been “A Week in Tennessee”. I didn’t realize until we got here that we actually live in TN. The Fort Campbell Army base is located right on the Tennessee/Kentucky border, outside of Clarksville, TN. Although our house is actually located in Tennessee, the Fort Campbell post office is on the Kentucky side, therefore our address is Kentucky… even though we live in Tennessee… Confused yet? :P

Oh, yes, we have a house! :D It is a bit small, it’s a lot smaller than the one we left in Alaska, but we’re dealing with it. We moved in last week, and 2 days ago (Monday) our household goods were delivered. So, now our small house became even smaller as it’s housing dozens of boxes because we have no storage space! No garage OR basement, so yeah… it sucks. But, at least it is feeling more like a home because I can actually cook, we have our TV and internet hooked up, so that makes things a lot better :)

I plan on doing another vlog once we get things set up. I thought it would be cool to try and do a vlog from my iPad so I can take you all through the house and show you everything! Does that sound like something people would even be interested in? I thought it’d be a neat idea…. :?:

Today I took our puppy Maya to the vet as she needed to get registered on post and also the Army requires pets to be microchipped, so she had to get that too. I still need to set up an appointment to get her spayed… she is STILL overpowering Dakota a lot and literally walking on her when Dakota is lying down, and I’m hoping that getting her spayed will tone down her dominance. She’s just over 8 months old now, and Dakota is 3 years :) Both of them will have some adjusting to do! They both have Husky blood in them so they are already feeling the heat! :D
