So, yesterday I got a text from my husband, John early in the day saying that the Northern Lights were projected at a 5 on a scale from 0-9 (according to the Geophysical Institute at University of Alaska, Fairbanks). We’ve never seen them project it higher than a 4, usually because we don’t check it everyday because I’m sure it’s higher than a 4 a lot. However, I was all excited so we were going to go out and try to see the Northern Lights up here in Alaska.
I’ve seen them a few times in the past couple years since I moved here, but never really was that great. I’ve only seen the green lights (I REALLY wanna see blue or purple) and never really seen them move much. Well, last night was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! We stayed out til about 2:15AM watching them (they only came out just before 2) and then I continued to watch as we drove home. They were all over the sky. Sadly, they weren’t too bright, so my pictures came out crappy (and I tried to enhance them, but the quality sucks but the green at least got a little brighter ) I didn’t see blue, we only saw green and they were pretty dim, but it’s the most I’ve ever seen them “dance”. It was definitely the coolest display I’ve personally seen so I totally think it was worth it
In “website” related news, I’m getting rid of my photo blog and plan on working on some more WordPress themes for this site
