1st Year Anniversary
So, yesterday was mine and John’s 1 Year Anniversary! We’ve now been married exactly a year! :D In some ways it feels like it’s been much longer than that, and in other ways it feels like that year went by way too fast. It’s crazy to think that we’ve been married just a year and we are already 6 months pregnant! I wouldn’t have it any other way though! I’m so excited for our little man to finally make his appearance! We weren’t able to do much in the way of “special” as we are completely broke right now until after the 1st of the year. We had a nice lunch (which he made) and then exchanged our traditional 1st year paper gifts, then went to a friend’s house to watch the Packer game.
It was quite interesting because John is a Packer fan, and Matt is a Patriots fan. And what do you know? They played each other! haha The Packers ended up losing by 4 points I think, and both John and Matt agreed that it would have been a completely different game if Rogers had been playing. I guess last game Aaron Rogers got a concussion so this was the first game he wasn’t starting quarterback, let alone not playing at all. I don’t really care much about football, but it was nice to hang with our friends :D I got to chat with Mary about baby stuff as they just had their baby almost a month ago And we finally got to see him! That little man is so adorable! I wish I had taken a picture so I could show you all! oh well, next time for sure!
As for John and my anniversary gifts, the traditional 1st year “theme” is paper. We decided we wanted to keep with the traditional wedding gifts and not go to the contemporary ones. John was upset with his, I guess he had bought a paper pack and thought there was white (blue and white were our wedding colors) but there wasn’t so he was stuck with the bright green. Then, the stencil was too big so he couldn’t fit our whole wedding song title on the paper (“Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban). And I’m really arts and crafty, so I kinda went all out lol Last March, when John was away at training, I started working on a wedding scrapbook for us. (Notice the word started. I have like 3 pages done!) I have a million pictures printed off and lots of supplies. I used some of the snowflake stickers and one of the pictures from that stuff so I told John he should feel extra special cuz I’ll have to go buy more for the scrapbook and print off that picture again haha If I ever get back to working on it!
